My Background

My interests and drive are centered around cross-cultural environments and the way different cultures interact with one another. From a love of international travel, the study of multiple foreign languages, experience working on a global team and an active interest in world foods, cross-cultural environments are at the heart of who I am both as a person and a professional.

I have an MBA in International Business and have been working successfully in consulting (human resource and healthcare financial) for six years. In my current position, I work with teams based throughout the US and in India. I have gained invaluable experience in functioning across multiple time zones, cultural perceptions and work styles.

One of my greatest interests is foreign language acquisition. I acquire language quickly, speak Spanish at an advanced level and am successfully studying Mandarin. I have tutored students (Spanish, Japanese and Mandarin speakers), in the English language, accent reduction and grammar for the past four years.

I come from a family background with a deep-seated appreciation for food. The culinary arts have always been a love of mine and I incorporate them into my life whenever possible. I visit local markets regularly, survive on local food when traveling, read extensively about food and food science and take culinary classes whenever possible. My favorite travel destinations are culinary capitals like Hong Kong and Montreal.

In the future, I look forward to merging my experience and passions into a career that will make the best use of my skills and allow me to make changes and advances in my field.
